That the culture and history of a country are created by the people who have lived and died in it over the centuries and millenia seems almost too obvious a statement. Yet the vast majority of those who have contributed to a country's development have, in most cases, been overlooked and forgotten.
The people I write about here are but a few of the countless millions whose achievements, large and small, have resulted in the creation and continuance of what has become the United States.
